The following additional features are available through a separately purchased module for use with the Premium and Enterprise editions of Intelligent Media Server.
Metadata for Different Types of File
You can control which metadata fields are associated with which file types. For example, you can create fields of metadata that are only relevant to videos and are not displayed with other types of file. The metadata associated with each type of file can be specified when editing fields in the Customise Metadata Page.
Metadata Available to Users and Groups
You can assign users access to all metadata or you can limit access to selected fields only. For each field to which you give a user access, you can also specify if they can update it. Your in-house users might be given access to all metadata while your partners in external organisations might only be given some of it, for example. Access to metadata is controlled using the metadata tab when updating a user account. This feature is available when your organisation has purchased the optional Multi-tenant metadata module.
This feature can be used to limit the availability of metadata to certain users or groups. This could suit a situation where several different departments use IMS, or when working with several clients each of which access the same IMS.
